Mastodon is not a person. Mastodon is not an organization. Mastodon is not making money off you.
Mastodon is a piece of software written by one guy supported by donations on patreon, working from when he wakes often until 5am, with the help of a team of unpaid volunteers most of whom are trans women or otherwise LGBT.
Mastodon is a product of unpaid labor of passionate marginalized people + our dedicated cishet friend working at less than minimum wage
For the record there are no co-founders of Mastodon. Not in a startup way (it's not a startup) nor in a development way (I started the project on my own)
